Getting your kid to college?

Studies reveal that over an adult’s working life, an individual with a bachelor’s degree can expect, on average, to earn $2.1 million.  Your child can go to college and it all starts with a great education.  Here’s how High Desert Prep can help:

  • Students will attend 1 field trip a year to a southern California 4-year university.  Field trips will help your child see first hand what college life is like and how to get there.
  • High Desert Prep staff believes that all students, no matter their level of preparation through the eighth grade, can be prepared for college-ready in 4 years.
  • We are passionate about giving low-income students the opportunity of getting to college.
  • Courses offered will satify a-g requirements for university admissions
  • High Desert Prep staff and faculty has a “Whatever it takes” attitude to get your child ready for college
  • Practice SAT tests and SAT Prep Classes
  • Parent meetings and financial aid classes to help complete financial aid forms

Parents, please keep in mind that we always here to help.  Should you need additional information, please feel free to give us a call 760.285.6880

Educational Program

Our educational approach is simple.  It is a “Whatever It Takes” approach.  Whatever it takes to aid our students toward mastery of the standards.  High Desert Prep recognizes that all students can learn if given the opportunity.  Therefore High Desert Prep offers

  • Full-day kindergarten.  Full day kindergarteners have a strong academic foundation.
  • Educational field trips that support the classroom teaching.
  • Uniforms for all students (blue/khaki colored Docker-style pants, shorts, skorts, or skirts & white/blue/maroon collar polo shirt)
  • Homework nightly that reinforces a standard.
  • Leadership opportunities.  Students will participate in and coordinate various philanthropic events for the community to develop leadership abilities.
  • Minimum day Fridays used to assess students weekly (weekly/monthly progress reports)
  • Additional school days.  Students will attend school 183 school days, that’s 8 more days than the state requirement.  Additional school days and longer school hours means greater opportunities for academic achievement.
  • Character education.  Award-winning character education program encourages responsible citizenry and good character.
